The Insider's Secrets to Trash or Treasure

Like hundreds of organizing professionals across the country, you have more than likely entered a home filled with items stacked on shelves, packed away in cupboards or hidden under a pile of boxes in the basement and wondered what is TRASH or TREASURES.

Darlene Hines, owner of Nostalgia Antique Appraisal Services in Bloomfield Hills and one of our new NAPO MI Business Partners, will take us through this lecture-style hands-on presentation and will discuss basic techniques that organizers can use to help determine if an item may have value, and if so, what are the next steps.

• What to look for

• Basic characteristics of antiques or collectibles

• Marks and signage

• When to call an appraiser

• The appraisal process of a qualified appraiser
